The Goal: Build an Antique Airplane Barnstormers Barn.
The Challenge: No budget, no materials, must be mobile.
The Assets: Fly-In volunteers with unlimited can-do spirit.
The Action: Armed with chainsaws, Pat Connelly's mobile saw mill, and a half-dozen volunteer "loggers,"
we felled seven trees from Herb and Janie Brown's property and milled them into dimensional lumber.
During the winter, this lumber was stacked and fan dried. With drawings
and structural engineering complete, we built the trusses and walls in
January and February.
Though many supporters have donated their time, skills and resources to
make the Antique Airplane Barnstormers Barn a reality, we need your help
to complete the barn in time for the 2010 Arlington Fly-In.
Donations for the windows and hardware have put us half-way to finishing
this project. Your contribution will help to assure the successful
completion of this centerpiece for the Antique Airplane Area.
The Arlington Fly-In is a 501(c)3 organization, making your donation tax deductible.
